Aris Blackthorn

Race: Human
Class: Archfey Warlcok
Age: 32
Pronouns: He/Him
Relationship Status: Complicated
Motto: "Just trust me, I know what I'm doing."
Theme: Head and My Heart by Ruella & AG

Appearance

A bit lanky with a willowy build, it's a joke to say that a strong breeze could knock Aris over. Despite that he carries himself with confidence. He keeps himself neat and orderly, his short black hair carefully styled out of tired, bright evergreen eyes. He dresses in dark pants, a carefully buttoned light gray shirt, and a dark gray vest. A delicate rapier with ornately carved leaves and flowers in greens, pinks, and purples is strapped to his waist. A chain connects a soft pink diary to the sword that he keeps tucked into his bag beside his own journal.

Personality

Confident and self assured, Aris knows what he's doing. While his skills better suit doing research and getting the party together, he also doesn't back down from a challenge. Be it standing up for himself or for someone else, he holds his ground. Despite a callous disconnect with most people, he does still have a soft spot for others and will try to save them until they've proven not worth the effort. He's also willing to put himself in difficult positions and different forms of debt to help the people he cares about, family and friends, as few as they are. The only time his confidence crumbles is when dealing with his patron. At that point, he's a panicked mess doing his #best.

History

Aris lost his parents at a young age, leaving him and his little sister alone. They ended up at the Bluestone Abbey where they were taken in and cared for. Fiercely protective of his little sister Marie, he very rarely was seen without her until they were almost adults. He took to reaching out to Abbot Grear more for learning, appreciating his tolerance of the many questions Aris had. Aris considered becoming an abbot himself until Marie grew sick. Remembering the stories Abbot Grear had shared with them when they were young, Aris struck out into the forest surrounding the Abbey. It was there that he managed to find a powerful Fae, Oberon, the King of Elfland. Aris begged for the power to save his sister, and a deal was struck: Aris would give up part of his life in service to Oberon in exchange for his sister's life. Without a second thought Aris agreed and was able to save his sister. Their time together was brief but knowing that Marie was safe and happy was all that mattered. Now Aris is fulfilling his side of the bargain and doing as Oberon asks of him.

Relationships

Marie Blackthorn - Marie is Aris's little sister. She was shy and quiet as a child, hiding behind her big brother. It only got worse when they lost their parents and ended up living in the Bluestone Abbey. As she got older, she found her confidence with encouragement from her brother and decided to join the monkhood herself to look after and help others like them. Unfortunately, she grew quite sickly. While it didn't spread to anyone else it was going to kill her. She still isn't sure how, but she knows that her brother did something to save her life. She's grateful, but hates how distant Aris has become from her since then.

Abbot Atticus Grear - One of the Abbots at the Bluestone Abbey where Aris was raised, he is someone with a lot of knowledge that Aris trusts. He shared his knowledge of magic from before entering the Monastery and what he knew of different religions and peoples. He was particularly fond of Aris as a student due to Aris's desire to know more and natural curiosity as a child.

King Oberon - The King of Elfland and the man Aris made a deal with to save his little sister's life, Aris has traded years of service as his price. Oberon is imposing, demanding, and expects success from those he gives his power to. It's very much a toxic relationship with a steep power imbalance, but Aris isn't about to break their deal. After all, you can know you're making a bad decision and still make it.

Cornelius Pellinore - An older, well studied necromancer and Aris's best friend, Aris has great respect for the ambitious disgraced professor. They can share spells and talk about magic which has led to trust and fondness for the elder. While Cornelius may do some morally questionable things, Aris is willing to cover for him and stand by his actions.

Mae Amamion

Titles: Lady
Nicknames: Mayhem
Race: Eladrin Elf
Class: Wild Magic Barbarian
Age: Young Adult
Pronouns: She/Her
Relationship Status: Engaged
Motto: "Let's have fun! And a good fight!"
Theme: The Mad Queen by Rok Nardin

Appearance

Mae is a surprisingly short Eladrin Elf with poofy hair tied back into pigtails and a smattering of freckles across her cheeks. Her eyebrows are oddly shaped like hearts as are her pupils which they weren't always. She wears high waisted dark pants, simple boots, and a long, flowing, light brown shirt. A necklace is wrapped three times around her neck, hanging down to her chest by the weight of her engagement ring. She also wears a pair of round black framed glasses to help her eyesight. When in spring, which she most often is, her skin is light pink, her hair is a soft purple, and her eyes are violet. When in summer, her skin is light green, her hair blonde, and her eyes a brilliant yellow. When in autumn, her skin is a bright red, her hair orange, and her eyes crimson. When she's in winter, her skin is light blue, her hair a deep navy blue, and her eyes silvery gray.

Personality

When she's in spring, which she is most often, Mae is bubbly, excitable, and ready for a good time. She takes joy in life and especially in a good fight. Ever upbeat, she looks at the bright side of things and does her best to keep spirits high. When she's in summer she's prickly, more likely to pick a fight and stand her ground in an argument. Particularly violent, fighting her when she's in summer is going to end poorly for the challenger. When she's in autumn she's particularly meek, keeping her mouth shut and shrinking away from people. If people are arguing she will interject in an attempt to keep the peace. She's very much a go with the flow person in this season. When she's in winter, she's very fatalistic and can only see the negative and the what if's of disaster. Tears are a constant as she can't stop crying even if the flow will slow. Fighting her now is more likely to lead to her giving up and calling it off.

History

Once upon a time in the town of Ivywood in the Elflands of the Feywilds lived the Amamion family, of the Flora Court of the Unseelie Court. A young Mae, with a mop of unruly orange hair and red eyes and skin flecked with freckles and white splotches, was hidden behind a wall listening to a familiar tune. Her mother, Basha, was calm but angry, firing off insults at her father, Drystan, who was stemming his tears. There was a gap in the fight and she darted into the room with a dazzling bouquet of flowers she’d gathered. They served as a distraction to end the fighting for tonight.Mae often tagged along with her father, following his equally unruly blue hair and pale body to every place he went. While she grew bored during anything resembling a meeting, she enjoyed watching him as a guard and tried to imitate his fighting style before he set aside time to start teaching her. While it made them both happy, it wasn’t enough to alter their expressed season to spring with Basha stuck in perpetual summer. It felt to Mae as if she never saw her mother’s eyes with them hidden in the shadows of wild evergreen hair.As time moved on and Mae grew, she eventually snapped when she found the same fight happening again after it going on for years. She turned from autumn to summer, hair and eyes turning gold and skin turning green as she let herself feel angry about everything. Basha wasn’t prepared to have the same kind of hateful language thrown in her face and moved to silence Mae only to be stopped by her dad, also shifted to summer with glowing golden eyes. The family fell apart shortly after that, with Mae and her dad leaving her mother and finally shifting to spring.Unfortunately that didn’t make Mae any less Basha’s daughter. Many years later, when Mae had become a guard like her father, a sea elf named Ercien Danlianthol (Silverpearl) of the Coral Court of the Unseelie Court, a close friend of Mae despite the gap between their stations, sought to marry her. With approval from Mae’s father he had to seek the approval of her mother. Basha made a wager with him. If he could empty an abyss, he could have Mae, but if he couldn’t, she would have his fortune and rise through the Flora Court. As it turned out, Ercien succeeded. As such Mae was engaged to Ercien. While Mae had no interest in being married at the time, she was quite happy to have Ercien as the one she was engaged to. He gifted her a necklace that she still wears, a symbol of their relationship. As time passed and wedding planning was moving at a crawl in part because neither Ercien or Mae were in rush, Ercien grew ill. It was in no small part to spending as much time out of the water as he was and Mae felt guilty. She sought out a cure and found that a broth made of amaranth would cure him. There was only one place she knew to get the plant and that was with a very old elf that refused to talk to everyone except the highest ranking members of the various courts. In the dark of what passed as night in the Feywilds, Mae snuck into the old woman’s garden and stole some of the needed plants. She was able to make the cure for Ercien but there was a cost. She ran into the old woman the next day, and while no words were said, the woman covered Mae’s eyes before disappearing. While Mae didn’t think too much of the interaction, the next time she was sparring with her father a ghostly apparition appeared and rushed at her. She lost her footing and fell, screaming out in a panic. It wasn’t long before an investigation of her eyes showed they had been changed, a curse placed upon them that would make her see spirits. It happened most often any time she picked up her weapon to fight. It led to Ercien first asking and then insisting that Mae give up her position as a guard and not only stop fighting, but sparring as well. Mae refused, agreeing to talk it over with Ercien the next time they saw each other. While he was away, she slipped away to the mortal world. She may love him, but not enough to give up the thing that bonded her and her father and brought her joy.

Amamion House History

The Amamion house is well known for being full of particularly skilled fighters who have historically served to protect Queen Titania. As time has gone on, the house numbers have dwindled, leading to only a handful of descendants left in the current age.

Relationships

Basha Amamion - Mae's mother, she is an Eladrin Elf stuck in perpetual summer. With dark brown skin like tree bark and short fluffy evegreen hair, her golden eyes were often hidden in shadow. While always calm, Basha had a temper and was almost always angry. Her husband often received the brunt of that anger. While she didn't want to be this way, she couldn't shake her anger at herself enough to even attempt to change her season, let alone succeed. It led to a never ending cycle for her family until she and her husband finally split. It gave peace to all of them even if it did bring her sadness. It wasn't enough to change her season, only enough to make her even angrier at herself for causing this in the first place and driving her daughter away. She never trusted the Danlianthol family, and when one of the sons tried to secure her daughter's hand in marriage, Basha set him impossible tasks to keep her daughter away from him. It was viewed as a power grab on her part when it was anything but. Unfortunately her plan failed and now she's pushed even further away from the daughter she does love somewhere deep down beneath all her anger.

Drystan Amamion - Mae's father and one of the guards of Ivywood, he was a skilled fighter stuck in winter. With pale white skin and long dark blue hair, there were tear tracks etched into his cheeks running from silvery blue eyes. His perpetual sadness that kept him in winter came from the anger his wife always had. Despite his best efforts to make her happy and cure the source of that anger, it was never enough. He tried to keep Mae from seeing that as much as possible, bringing her along with him for guard duty and teaching her how to fight. It was a bright spot in his life. Eventually he and his wife split and Mae came with him. After a little time he finally shifted to spring with soft lilac skin and dark purple hair. He was always fond of the Danlianthol family and was delighted to see his daughter engaged to one of the sons. He has tried to reach out to his now ex-wife with that happening, but it's something he isn't sure how to do anymore.

Ercien Danlianthol - A koi patterned sea elf and long time friend, Ercien and Mae fell in love long before he finally asked her mother to marry her. With an impossible task set before him to do so, he found a way to complete it and finally be able to propose to his childhood friend. He and Mae both had each other's backs and looked out for each other, so when he grew ill she didn't hesitate to do what was needed to get him a cure. Afterwards the curse placed on her was discovered, that she could now see and speak to spirits. With her love of fighting, Ercien started to worry that it would only get worse and lead to her being put in danger and even killed. He actively tried to keep her from fighting which caused her to run away and him to realize that it was important to her. To follow her to the Mortal Plane, he made a deal with Oberon. Upon finaling finding Mae he found her possessed by a spirit and nearly killed when her actions where not fully her own. His deal changed as he asked to be able to save her. Now he has a steep debt to pay to Oberon, but for him it's worth it for Mae to be safe.

King Oberon - The King of Elfland and the only one who remembers all of the many rules that govern them. While Mae wasn't personally involved with him, she now has a closer tie to him due to the deals that her fiancé made with him.

Ha'Kar - A half-orc of the Nightstorm Clan and one of the last two surviving members, he's become a dear friend of Mae between their skill in fighting and the general mesh of their personalities and shared skills. He's someone she'd fight for and trusts completely. She's sad that he won't be able to travel home with her when she does return.

Akula Salentin

Titles: The Witchlight Queen
Nicknames: Baby Shark
Race: Shark Triton
Class: Celestial Warlock
Age: 36
Pronouns: She/Her
Relationship Status: Involved
Motto: "If you only bring harm against the innocent and destroy joy, come drown with me."
Theme: Drown With Me by Falconshield

Appearance

Akula is a Triton, and as such has more aquatic gray skin and a pair of functional gills on her neck in addition to a tail ending in a shark-like fin. Her skin is a soft gray with darker gray stripes along her back and the outer sides of her limbs. Her silvery white hair is knee length and falls in softly flowing waves down her back. Bright golden eyes are most often slightly obscured by her black wide brimmed hat, teeth of slain aquatic beasts rimming the center. She dresses simple in a black and gray sleeveless leotard with bits of skirt fringe falling from her waist to her knees. Similarly colored sandals lace up her legs to her knees and fingerless gloves are wrapped up to her elbows. She also has a ribbon of gray cloth tied aroud the bottom of her tail just above the fin. She always carries a large, sharp fishing hook with her that's currently bound to the end of her staff, as well as a tightly sealed scrollcase tucked into her bag.

Personality

While raised in an environment where it would be easy to turn to petty crime, Akula has always been more likely to follow the rules than not, breaking them only when absolutely necessary. Most often rules are broken in the process of protecting her friends and innocents, and she's more than willing to risk her life to do so. Despite how protective she is of the people she cares for, she's still a rather private person and rarely brings up personal details about herself unless asked which leads to her being rather quiet most of the time. While she greatly enjoys being around others and talking with them, her tenancy to keep her personal life private comes off as shyness.

History

Akula grew up on and around the docks of Neverwinter, she had gotten caught in a net as a little kid and dumped off there. Her birth parents died in the storm that swept her so close to a fishing boat. Taken under the wing of Aldridge Salentin, the shipyard owner. One day she caught a baby owlbear as it fell out of a tree. Her name was Juniper and she cared for the little one along with some of the other children around town. When the Witchlight Carnival rolled into town, Juniper ran off and became lost. With her gaggle of companions she entered the carnival to rescue their friend. After managing to make their way in and explain what happened, they got to enjoy the carnival even if it ended in a tearful farewell to Juniper. They were warned by the owners of the carnival as they left that everything has a price, though they were too wrapped up in the evening to really understand. When she was full grown he gifted her the hook used to catch Sphyraena, a giant mutated barracuda that had long hunted and tormented the people of Neverwinter, attached to a pole to make a wicked spear. It became a treasured possession from the man she considers her father and she's never seen without it.Eventually she managed to pick up a job on a ship, the Alexandrite, helping to deliver supplies to Marina Serenade Resort, a Merfolk resort on Deepshell Island. Akula picked up a job as being a guide for the island and the resort, a job she ended up greatly enjoying as well as the company of other aquatic beings that let her learn more about her Triton heritage. One day monsters from the elemental plane of water began coming out of the portals to the plane at the top of the mountain. The portals and the water that come through them was used to create the springs of the resort and as such need to stay open. Akula went up the mountain to investigate and thin out some of the monsters. While struggling against them she called out for help and a Solar named Verchiel who happened to be investigating the same thing came to her aid. She ended up making a deal with him, that he would help her and led her in aid in exchange for something. After making sure that the island was secure, Akula heard rumors of the Witchlight Carnival stopping back near Neverwinter. She knew she had lost something there as a child, and now was the time to go and get it back.

Relationships

Aldridge Salentin - The dockmaster of Neverwinter, he was the one that found a very disoriented and starving Akula still stuck in netting under his docks. He took pity on her, freeing her, giving her some food, and taking her under his wing. While she got up to mischief more than once, she proved useful as an extra hand managing some of the people coming into the dock and helping to check cargo. Eventually he accepted that he thought her as more of a daughter than anything else. With Sphyraena terrorizing the docks, he managed to slay it with Akula's help. When she finally left home, he gave the hook in hopes that she would always remember to be brave in the face of danger and great odds, and to remember that she always had a home to come back to.

Nixie - One of the many merfolk at the Marina Serenade Resort, Nixie quickly became friends with Akula when she first came to Deepshell Island. The two both enjoyed exploring the island, hot tea, and laying on the beach of the island under the water when they weren't working. They became secret keepers for each other. Eventually after making her deal with Verchiel, Akula asked Nixie if she could help her, to which the merfolk said of course. Akula's love letters have been written almost exclusively by Nixie, save the first one that was a garbled mess of shapes and lines.

Verchiel - Verchiel is a Solar, one of Selune’s Twelve, the Angels charged with protecting the Material realm and waging with with the Nine, the devils of Asmodeous. Verchiel’s personal rival is a pair of Princes named Geryon and Levistus, devils already at war with one another. Akula made a deal with him. In exchange for his help and share of his power, she would help fight against those that pursued evil ways and routing out the servants of Geryon and Levistus. The two of them work very well together and have developed a close relationship over time.

Lailah - Her familiar, a tiny celestial Pegasus. She's still struggling to learn how to control all of her limbs, but she more than makes up for that with how adorable and sweet she is.

Marin - A fellow Triton, Marin was initially delighted to find one of his people so far from their cities and using her time to protect others. It wasn't long into their initial friendship where he taught Akula bout the culture she missed on growing up when he learned of her pact with an otherwordly being. Despite her deal being with a Solar and as such a celestial being, Marin condemned her choice to make such a bargain for power. He abruptly ended their friendship and set out on his own. Now whenever they meet he does his best to prove that her deal was a mistake and an offense to their people. If he can break their pact and bring her back to the side of good, then perhaps she can become a proper member of Triton society.

Vothreign - The mother of Sphyraena, this mutated barracuda is hunting down the ones that killed her child, recognizing them by the smell of their blood in the water. She’s been trying to track down Akula and Aldridge but both have thus far escaped her reach.

Caelum Stormbringer

Nicknames: Cal / Bro
Race: Half-Drow
Class: Athlete (Rogue)
College: Lorehold
Studies: Sports Medicine & Nutrition
Age: 19
Pronouns: He/Him
Relationship Status: Taken
Motto: "WOOOOO, let's go!"
Theme: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk

Appearance & Personality

Dusky skin and plum eyes give away the Drow part of Caelum's half elven heritage, but they're the only dark things about him. Full of energy and enthusiasm, Caelum is always ready for what comes next, be it a feat of personal strength or a team challenge. Built like the athlete he is, he's usually seen wearing a high necked tank top and his signature lettermen jacket in red and white for the college of Lorehold. Keeping his long flax hair pulled back with a few braids hidden in the mix, it's a stark contrast to his short, neatly trimmed beard. Between his training regimen and his passion for cooking, he's got to keep the hair off his neck. He's got a charming smile that pairs well with encouraging words. Always trying to boost up others, he counts his friends as being part of his team. You win together, you fail together, and you shine together. He chooses to see the best in everyone and pump up their strengths. He also has a habit of carrying around snacks and making food for others to make sure everyone is operating at their best. Encouragement, excitement, and overall positivity colors all of Caelum's views. His actions really do speak louder than his words.

History

Born and raised in Torrezon, he initially was the child of a single mother, Isolde, before she met Malakar, who would quickly become his father. Raised with loving parents and an annoying little sister, Caelum was encouraged to focus on his health and physicality, leading to an athletic lad with a love of cooking for the people he cared about. While Torrezon is full of militaristic zealots, Caelum always knew how he would serve his country when he grew up, which was as a medic. With his desire to heal and help others, he gave up his coveted position as captain of his mage tower team to go to a new school to properly study new medical techniques. His dedication to health and wellness served him well both in his studies and with his fellow classmates, as he tends to carry healthy snacks with him everywhere he goes, much to the delight of those around him. A constant through his life is his girlfriend, Zira, a striking half-orc woman that he absolutely adores and is ride or die for. Whether it's cheering her on or being cheered on by her, they make quite the sporting pair.

Relationships

Selene Stormbringer - Caelum's human mother, she's a very soft, loving woman with a passion for cooking. No matter how many or few ingredients she has, she can whip it up into a delicious meal for her family. She had Caelum before meeting Malakar from a one night stand. She absolutely adores both of her children but can be overly strict with them. She wants what's best for them both and for them to succeed. She's always a safe place for the two of them, despite her strictness. A family tradition is both Caelum and Thalia helping her make dinner every holy day. It instilled a love of cooking in both children.

Malakar Stormbringer - Caelum's step-dad, Malakar is part of the Black Rose branch of the military and currently working as a town guard. While he appears to be a gruff stick in the mud at work, he's the opposite out of uniform. Cracking jokes and sweeping romantic gestures are his bread and butter, and how he won the affection of Selene. He loves both of his kids, counting Caelum as his own just as much as Thalia. Every inch the dad that throws a football in the backyard with his kids, physical fitness is something he instilled in them both was important. He's also the dad that's an enthusiastic cheerleader for the people he loves, which means he's equal parts embarrassing and the best.

Thalia Stormbringer - Caelum's younger half-sister, she's in peak moody teenager mode. She prefers to spend her free time drawing and painting over playing a game in the backyard. She does drag Caelum on a morning run every day, or at least did until he got accepted to Arcadia. Now it's a solo run. She loves both of her parents, even if she finds her dad to be terribly embarrassing, almost as embarrassing as Caelum. She does get just as worked up as her dad though and cheers on her big brother and her friends in what they do.

Aketch

Titles: Famine's Feast
Nicknames: Ketch / AK
Race: Undead Beastmen
Class: Order of Scribes Wizard
Age: Undead
Pronouns: They/Them
Relationship Status: Single
Motto: "Just one more can't hurt."
Theme: Cannibal by Ke$ha

History

In life Aketch was a well studied wizard who learned from Professor Pelinore. They were willing to push the boundaries of what magic had to offer, never satisfied with where study ended, their voracious appetite for knowledge never satiated. They also loved to cook, often using magic to whip up treats for their classmates and experimenting with new recipes the same way they did magic. In death, they're much the same. Always seeking out more. More magic, more knowledge, more food. Despite their undead state and requiring nothing to eat, they almost always have something they're munching on while reading a new (or old) magical tome.

Personality

Excess is the name of the game for Aketch. Be it food, drink, or people, they want it all and are willing to do anything to get it. Even then, the thrill of the hunt for what they want is part of what makes them crave it so much. Right or wrong, they don't care as long as they get their satisfaction, their soul be damned. This desire for excess has a side effect of leaving others with less and running out, but Aketch doesn't particularly care. Worst case someone dies and then they get a special feast and the deceased get to live out their afterlives. That being said, they can be considerate and kind, but that's reserved for their siblings. Feisty, fiery, and ready to have a good time, Aketch is the life (and death) of the party.

Tsk

An average human in most ways, Tsk has darker skin covered in a variety of tattoos, several piercings, and long black hair bound up into several loose braids. His piercing blue eyes seem to be hiding something. He dresses simply in leather armor with a pack slung across his back.Like every Changeling, Tsk is insectoid in appearance. His body has several segments with a protective exoskeleton and a shiny teal sheen to his black carapace. His face is rather angular with his nose morphing into a horn much like a rhino beetle's that extends above his forehead. His mouth is instead mandibles that allow him to speak his racial tongue, made of a complex series of clicks, whistles, and hisses.

Personality

Generally a quiet man, Tsk tends to keep to himself and avoid social interaction. That being said, he does enjoy people watching and learning about other people when the opportunity presents itself. He also is willing to go out of his way to help people if it's within his power to do so. He doesn't trust easily but even if someone is just an acquaintance, he'll have their back when they need him. He does get homesick from time to time, vaguely talking about a close knit family while never giving away too many details.

History

Growing up in a tight knit community in the Underdark, Tsk did set off to explore the greater world when he was still quite young with his mentor, a woman named Chk. It was thanks to her that he began learning more about the surface races and how they lived their lives. Getting separated from her was one of the hardest moments of his life and he still keeps her journal with all of her notes. He's taken up the mantle of continuing her research into the other races of the world in honor of her memory. It wasn't terribly long after that when he met Zee, a rather small and very lively black bear cub that he cares for now.

Relationships

Chk - An older changeling, Chk always had a natural connection to the outside world and the sky above. She had many tales from her adventures and Tsk was a willing pupil to teach. It wasn't long before the two grew close and eventually left to see the surface world together until her untimely disappearance.

Thk - Tsk's parent(s), Thk was fairly hands off when it came to raising their hatchling. That didn't stop them from being overprotective of their child though, leading them to feud with Chk before her disappearance and try to protect their young Tsk.

Etk - A childhood friend of Tsk, Etk was always an odd one out having been hatched by a divorced Marriage, unlike the other hatchlings. Tsk took a protective role over her and the two of them were thick as thieves until he left with Chk to see the world.

He abandoned his fiancee, his responsibilities, stole one of his family's boats, and for a short time was part of a crew of pirates. He became known for his deadly aim with a spear and his charm when getting what he wanted. Now he's got a reputation as the black sheep of the Liliaceae family, a dark stain on a noble family name.

Relationships

Lucius Liliaceae -
A strict and professional man, he drilled familial duty into Malachite's head from the time he could understand it. He was very thorough with Malachite's school learning, making sure that he would know all of the skills it requires to run a shipping business like he does. He had high expectations for his only son, that he would take over the business and let him retire. His disappointment at his son's actions are immeasurable.

Vivian Liliaceae -
She's very much the picture of a loving wife and mother. She spoiled Malachite while he was growing up and sheltered him from as much as she could. She always wanted a large family but fertility issues led to that being more of a future dream than a present dream. It's the one expectation she has of her son, that he'll give her many, many grandbabies.

Victoria Papaver -
A rather demure woman, Victoria was always ambitious and wanted to make a name for herself. While disappointed in being forced into an arranged marriage, she was hopeful that she would be able to make something of herself as a merchant’s wife given her knowledge of running a business. That hope only grew upon meeting Malachite, who at the time encouraged her. After his abrupt turn to piracy and abandonment of her, things have understandably changed, leaving her bitter at the lost opportunities she could have had.

Ezra Jones -
A skilled traveling blacksmith, Ezra is very much an independent man that's content with his life. Traveling from town to town, he gets to see the world and do work that he loves. At least, until Malachite came into his life like a whirlwind. Falling in love was fast, it was easy, but the hard part isn't going long stretches of time without seeing each other, it's the fact that Malachite refuses to be open about it. Ezra is a lot of things, but being a DLS is not one of them. At least, not for much longer.

Malachite Liliaceae -
Malachite's adopted uncle and his namesake, Malachite has always been a collector of all things shiny. This includes his shiny family. He loves all of them very much, including his namesake. Having spent the early parts of his life as a stowaway, struggling to make it in the world, he understands his nephew's desire to see things for himself and supports him, albeit quietly, as much as he can.

Personality

Bratty and brash, Miller has a quick wit and lethal tongue. Between being the middle child and his siblings being sisters, he had to learn quickly how to sling passive aggressive insults with the best of them. Extremely petty and willing to hold onto a grudge for years, Miller is a long term villain who moves in the shadows to get what he sees as justified revenge. He's arrogant about his looks and spends more time on his appearance than he should. After all, if he's going to insult people he needs to be better than them. All of that to say he is fiercely protective of the people he cares about. No one can insult them but him, not that he does often. He guards his softness because it's been taken advantage of in the past.

Isabella Glimmerglass -
An overly confident and brash woman, Isabella is always the first one to clap back at anyone coming after her friends or family. With a wicked wit to match her wicked tongue, she's the only one allowed to bully her siblings.

Rosy Glimmerglass -
Soft spoken and naïve, Rosy is sugary sweet and kind to everyone. She can be frustrating with how nice and innocent she is.

Io Shimmergem -
Rarely are fairies ever without wings, but Io is, and quite sensitive about it. They are a kind and compassionate soul that tends to look after others. They worry themself into knots when it comes to Miller but they do love him dearly, just as Miller dearly loves them.
